Rotary Club of Belfast

Club visits the Gobbins

RotaryAtTheGobbinsEntranceWisesEyeOn Friday 07 September 7 intrepid members and partners - PP Brian & Rosie Clements, PP Maurice & Hilary Brooks, Eric & June Rainey and Billy McCoubrey - enjoyed the fantastic experience scenery of the "most dramatic walk in Europe".

After a lovely lunch at the centre they followed the path which hugs the cliff face and offers breathtaking views of the rugged coast as it crosses the iconic tubular and wobbly suspension bridges passing through caves and tunnels and using steps to reach different heights above the swirling sea.

During their 3 hour walk, led by an excellent guide, they also got an unique perspective of the wildlife, fauna and flora. Stout boots and headgear were the order of the day and despite a steep hillclimb at the end it was generally considered to be a super day out. The pictures below and short video right give an excellent flavour of this unique experience.
