Rotary Club of Belfast

Visit to Dublin

Dublin 25.1Dublin 25.4PE Heather and Christopher, PP Brian Clements, PP Maurice and Hillary and Hon. Sec David and Jenny had a most enjoyable, if long, day of fellowship and culture in Dublin with 15 members of the Rotary clubs of Lisburn and Newry. Travelling by train at 8.00am the group made their way by foot and taxi to the National Museum of Ireland, Kildare Street which specialises in Irish and other antiquities dating from the Stone Age to the Late Middle Ages, medieval metalwork and Viking artefacts.

Dublin 25.2We were delighted to welcome PE Heather and Christopher's son Matthew (pictured far right) at lunch in a nearby Italian restaurant. Following which some went shopping and some to reminisce in the Lincon Inn before strolling back to the station through the grounds of Trinity College and the 18.50 train home.

Thanks are extended to PP Brian for co-ordinating the trip.
