Rotary Club of Belfast

Thank you Shoppers!

Bloomfield3The Club extends a big thank you to the shoppers in Bloomfields Shopping Centre who donated to the annual Rotary collection to raise money for the international disaster relief charity ShelterBox Thursday 10 -Saturday 12 April which was jointly manned by members of the Rotary Clubs of Belfast, Bangor, Donaghadee and North Down Clubs.

The collection raised £2,297 and thanks are extended to all who donated for their generosity.

Bloomfield4.2ShelterBox’s sole focus is on emergency shelter and this allows them to provide the best shelter solutions after disaster and conflict for people who, often with no warning, lose their homes, their possessions and their livelihoods and every day are faced with a battle for survival. On display in the Centre were items that the charity provides for people who are left homeless from disasters including a tent, tarpaulins, blankets, mosquito nets, water filters and solar lights as well as tools and other essential equipment and tools. Passers-by were given the opportunity to examine the items and hear about the work that the charity does.

Information on the work of ShelterBox can be seen here.
