District Governor Visits the Club

District Book 14.10.24The Club was delighted to welcome Rotary Ireland District Governor 2024/25 Seamus Parle to the Club meeting on Monday 14 October. Highlighting the Rotary International Theme for the year – The Magic of Rotary – he stressed the impact that Rotarians can have by working together noting that over the past year between the 67 Rotary Ireland clubs well over £1m had been raised which had benefitted good causes across many areas, a lot locally. Also, through the contributions to the Rotary Foundation water and sanitation had been provided to thousands of people in 3rd world countries. However, he stressed it is essential moving forward to increase membership and he is asking all clubs to adopt a membership plan to attract new members emphasising the Business Networking, Fellowship, Community Service and Personal Benefit and Self-development benefits of being a Rotarian.

DG Seamus concluded by presenting President Ken with a copy of a book written by the District Chairman of Rotary Foundation Howard Caskie on the origins of Rotary and in return President Ken presented him with the Club’s Eco Banner and a copy of the Club's 2nd. 50 years History.
