About Foundation

RI

The Rotary Foundation is Rotary's own charity, a not-for-profit corporation supported solely by voluntary contributions; it has the largest privately-funded scholarship programme in the world. Its mission is to enable Rotarians to advance international understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education and exchange programmes
.
Clubs donate to the Fund but as well as individual donations to the Fund it is also possible to support with a sustaining membership of $100pa or as a Foundation Benefactor with $1,000 in cash or by will. The Club thanks those members who have signed up to this commitment – we currently have 1 Benefactor and 4 Sustaining Members.

Every dollar contributed to the Foundation funds its support of humanitarian and educational programs implemented by clubs and districts and its global polio eradication activities.

Polio Eradication

Polio Eradication is Rotary's top priority and Rotary is committed to fighting Polio until every child is safe from this devastating disease. The Foundation's Polo Plus programme provides funding for mass immunisation campaigns as well as support for social mobilisation, surveillance and laboratories to help carry out the final stages of global polio eradication. Since 1985 Rotary members have contributed more than $900m and countless volunteer hours. The world now stands on the threshold of eradicating the disease. More about Rotary's and the Club's efforts can be seen here.

Foundation Grants

The Rotary Foundation offers different types of grants to assist the wide variety of projects that Rotarians are doing around the world.

District Grants
Rotary Foundation District Grants are block grants made by Districts to support activities that fit within the Foundation's mission. They allow clubs and districts to fund small short-term activities that address needs both in local and worldwide communities. They can cover service projects, scholarships and vocational training.

Global Grants
Rotary Foundation Global grants are bestowed by the Foundation and support larger international projects with sustainable, high-impact outcomes within the 6 areas of focus.

Clubs and districts can either create their own global grant projects or sponsor packaged grants developed by The Rotary Foundation in collaboration with strategic partners. Club- and district-developed grants will receive a funding match from the Foundation. Packaged grants will be fully funded by the Foundation. The minimum total project cost for each global grant is $30,000.
