Mitchell House School is a co-educational special school located in east Belfast for up to 80 children between the ages of 2 and 19 years with physical disabilities. The Club has developed a special relationship with the school and for several years the Belfast Club has provided Christmas parties for the children which have been great days, the kids have a ball and the enthusiasm is contagious.
The school also participates in our 'Kids Out' Programme (see separate section).
2013 Christmas Party
The Club organised its traditional Christmas Party for the Mitchell House Junior School on 19 December. As in previous years it was another resounding success, enjoyed by the children, staff and volunteer Club members who this year were from left below: Chris Warnock, Past President Brian Clements, Santa, Mark Davidson, Past Presidents Maurice Brooks and Brian Ferguson and John McCleery.
There was another hilarious show by 'Magic George' which had all in raptures. Following some singing and games the drinks and snacks supplied by the Club were enjoyed by all. Finally Santa (who had a remarkable resemblance to PP Courtenay Thompson) distributed presents.
As always, those who were there were left with amazing happy memories and the confirmation of how beneficial this project is.
