2010 Mitchell House Christmas Party
Following the same successful pattern of the previous years we arranged to have a Christmas party on 17th December for the whole junior school. Unfortunately this had to be abandoned due to the horrendous snow conditions. However, the re-scheduled date of 21st January was worth waiting for.
50 children from the junior school were in attendance, along with Rotarians PP Brian Ferguson, PP Courtenay Thompson, President Brian and Ken Morrison, to watch Magic George do his stuff. His 40 minute show had the children (and adults) in raptures.
He even managed to get two children to spin two plates each and turn around - real magic. Without being there, you cannot imagine the squeals of delight, the peals of laughter and the sheer enjoyment from all the kids and the staff of Mitchell House School.
Although Santa's duty was redundant due to the new date, we still distributed the party treats and goody bags provided by President Brian. The crisps and juice provided by PP Brian Ferguson rounded off a truly magical morning. The children got a huge buzz out of it, but Rotarians gave them a run for their money!
President Brian even found some volunteers to take on the job of President of the Club in the years to come.
The kids thanked the Club with a special card signed by all.
Those who were there will have the happiest of memories for many years to come and all members should appreciate just how beneficial this project is.
