Peace Fellowships

The Rotary Peace Fellowship is the premier educational programme of The Rotary Foundation and supports Rotary's mission to advance world understanding, goodwill and peace. Rotary Peace Fellows promote national and international co-operation, peace, and the successful resolution of conflict throughout their lives, in their careers, and through service activities.

It is intended for individuals who have chosen a career related to international relations, peace and conflict resolution; who have work experience in these areas and who have a commitment to community or humanitarian service and working for peace. Applicants should consider these objectives carefully before applying - details below

Two types of fellowships are offered for study at one of the six Rotary Peace Centres located at prestigious universities worldwide - a Masters Degree Fellowship and a Professional Development Certificate.

Masters Degree Fellowships

15-24 month programmes (varies by University) with a practical internship of 2-3 months at 5 premier universities in fields related to peace and conflict resolution and prevention. The Universities are:

Professional Development Certificate

For those with more extensive experience in peace related fields, a 3 month programme in peace and conflict resolution at Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand is offered. This programme incorporates 2-3 weeks of field study.

Eligibility

Individuals who previously participated in the Ambassadorial Scholarships program, or were Peace Fellows in the professional development program at Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand, are required to wait a minimum of three full years before applying for a master's degree fellowship.

Rotary Peace Fellows who have completed the master's degree program may not apply for the professional certificate program at Chulalongkorn University.

The following people are ineligible for master's degree Rotary Peace Fellowships but may apply for the professional development certificate on an exception basis:
